Decorated Ironstone Soup Tureen ca. 1875

If you are looking for a large antique soup tureen to use or for a center piece. At a reasonable price, this may be it. White ironstone or semi-china body with dark blue-green transfer of "Oriental" motifs. Highlighting in multi-color over the transfer, with bands of orange luster, and a rust-red rim around top opening.

This style of decoration is typical for English dinner wares during the 1870-90 period.

Impressed mark for Edge, Malkin & Co, with printed pattern name "Chang". Size: Approximately 11.75" total height, 13" handle-to-handle. Base is 6.625" diameter, opening 8.25"

Condition: Excellent. Small line on bottom base rim, slight wear to enameling around opening. No other chips cracks or repairs.

Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, I would expect a return if I happen to miss anything.
