EXQUISITE 12 1/2" Vase ~ Limoges Porcelain ~ Hand Painted With Robins, Nest, Eggs and Pink Flowers / Magnolia Blossoms ~ Artist Initialed ~ Jean Pouyat JPL Limoges France 1892

Have spring in your house all year long with the robin family! This is the first time we have seen this mold and it is definitely a beauty. The bulbous body of the vase has a creamy white background. On one side the artist has painted multiple branches with yellow centered pink flowers. Upon the branches he has painted two robin red breasts guarding their nest of four blue eggs! On the reverse side he has added several large Magnolia blossoms surrounded by green and brown leaves. The hand painted decoration has been embellished with gold accents and outlines. The rim flares out from the body of the piece and has a nice scalloped edge decorated with sponge gold. The inside of the rim is painted a soft pink color. The artist has painted ornately footed base and handles a soft taupe color with golden enhancements. The taupe background proceeds up the vase on the raised relief scroll designs. The artist has initialed and dated the bottom "FMS Mar 31st 1892". We feel this piece is in excellent condition. It does have one small repair to the rim but no other chips or cracks. Manufacturing anomalies may exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc.
