Exquisite Limoges Porcelain 12” Charger / Plate ~ Hand Painted by “Luca” with Colorful Poppies ~ 24" Elaborately Carved, Gold Adorned Framed Shadowbox ~George Borgfeldt (Coronet) 1906-1920

Exquisite, Amazing, Fantastic Elaborate, do I need to go on??? Oh and FREE SHIPPING! This is a masterpiece done by a well known porcelain artist of the early 20th century; "Luca". He has exhibited just how talented he is by painting large beautiful poppies in deep, rich, bold colors of pink, orange and purples that encompass this plate. The beautiful flowers that adorn this plate are hand painted on a background of expertly shaded colors of gold, brown and yellows. He has weaved green and teal colored leaves through the bouquet giving it a realistic look. The scalloped rim is trimmed with gold gilding that is in mint condition. Artist Luca is a listed and featured French artist in many of the leading publications regarding collecting antique hand painted Limoges porcelain art. Other examples of his work can be found in, "Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain, First Edition," by Mary Frank Gaston, also in Debby DuBay's, "Living With Limoges". This wonderful plate has been encased in a shadowbox style frame. It has been framed by a custom frame shop that was once in business in Independence MO. The outer frame work is a dark color with copper flecks and has ornate grooved designs adorned with gold with a pebbled background in between. Black or deep green velvet type cloth has been used to line the inside of the box. This frame definitely adds to the beauty of this wonderful piece of artwork. From what we can see through the glass we are assuming that there are no chips, hairlines or cracks; manufacturing anomalies may exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze. Due to the charger being enclosed within the shadowbox frame we do not know of any defects and it appears that it is in excellent condition. This would have to be someone's prize possession to have gone to the trouble and expense to have them custom framed.
