Wonderful Wedgwood Brown Aesthetic 14 3/4'' Earthenware Platter ~ Beatrice Pattern ~ Wedgwood & Co England 1880

This platter has wonderful deep chocolate brown transfers. Around the ledged rim white floral designs on the brown background really pop. The cream center has a large tree with branches of leaves and flowers. A banner with geometric designs is weaved through the branches along with other wispy stems with flowers. This platter has a recessed well in the middle which may have been used for a large tureen to sit or to gather meat or fish juices. IT IS RARE TO FIND VINTAGE AND ANTIQUE IRONSTONE IN "LIKE NEW" CONDITION BECAUSE OF WEAR FROM USE AND AGE. TINY GLAZE FLAKES AND CRAZING IS NORMAL AND ADDS CHARACTER TO EACH PIECE.
