Wonderful Old Ironstone, Handled, Leaf Shape Platter / Tray ~ Flower Transfers ~ Akron China Co 1894-1908

This is the kind of old piece that feels good when you touch it! It has a wonderful leaf shape with scalloped edging and an open handle at one end. Wispy floral transfers of violet and yellows have been place on a cream background making it just delightful. Gold, accents the handle and the rim of this old pretty. There is slight discoloration but no chips or cracks. There is a manufactures divot on the side that has been glazed over. Please see pictures. IT IS RARE TO FIND OLDER IRONSTONE IN "LIKE NEW" CONDITION BECAUSE OF WEAR FROM USE AND AGE. TINY GLAZE FLAKES AND CRAZING IF PRESENT IS NORMAL AND ADDS CHARACTER TO EACH PIECE.

Backstamp: Akron China Co 1894-1908 Extra Quality Coat of arms with Warranted underneath and Ironstone atop.
