Exceptional 15" German Majolica Tray / Platter ~ Light Turquoise with Birds and Grapes ~ Made in Germany ca.- 1920's.

This beautiful two handled tray depicts a light turquoise background with embossed patterns of birds, grapes and leaves. It has 2 beautiful birds eating grapes off the vines of fall colored leaves. The rim of the plate has embossed designs that look like icing on a cake! The raised relief is very defined and makes the birds pop right off the tray. There are a few glaze skips but no chips, cracks, or flakes. IT IS RARE TO FIND VINTAGE AND ANTIQUE MAJOLICA IN "LIKE NEW" CONDITION BECAUSE OF WEAR FROM USE AND AGE. TINY GLAZE FLAKES AND CRAZING IF PRESENT IS NORMAL AND ADDS CHARACTER TO EACH PIECE.

This would make a wonderful addition to any majolica collection.
