This is an exceptional Italian Renaissance work of art done by the master Limoges artist "Muville". Artist signed and dated '' '92 '' It truly is the prettiest I've seen in a long time. The mold is extraordinary with elaborate raised leaf designs that have been painted in gold. Every other leaf has had a touch of green added to the gold giving it a wonderful patina look. For the main motif Muville has painted two angelic putties with peaches and cream skin and blue gray wings. They are have beautifully detailed conch shells blowing their ceremonial fanfare for all to hear. The putti have been place on a pastel background of cream, blue and lilac giving the impression of soft clouds. Draping along one side of the gold leaves is very subdued lilac vines and flowers adding softness to the scene. "Muville" has taken pride in this masterpiece and has signed and dated the front. Pictures can not do this piece justice, it is that beautiful. There are no cracks, chips, manufacturing anomalies do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc.
A very similar plate is listed in the book "Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain (Third Edition)" by Mary Frank Gaston on Page 25
