Masterpiece by `A. Bronsillion ' ~ Limoges Porcelain Plate ~ Hand Painted with Yellow Roses ~ Signed ~ PM Mavaleix / Coronet 1908-1920
A yellow rose brings to mind all of the sunny, cheerful feelings of warmth and happiness and is purely a symbol of friendship. They can represent feelings of joy and delight, and are an ideal way to brighten someone's day who may be feeling down. Bronssillon has done this perfectly with this beautiful rendition of gorgeous yellow roses! He has chosen a smooth edged china blank which he has applied a wide rim of roman coin gold and two black bands. He has placed wonderful yellow roses, leaves and stems as the main focus of his artwork on this blank. To enhance the roses he has mixed white with the yellow making it appear as if the sun was shinning on the leaves turning them translucent. The immediate background around the roses is in darker hues of browns which makes the roses almost pop off the plate. The remainder of the background is a mixture of yellows, greens & creams, adding softness. `A. Bronssillon or Bronsillion' has signed the front of this plate making it extra special. He is a famous Limoges artist and is featured for painting beautiful and bold roses in all current reference books regarding collecting antique hand painted Limoges. There are no chips, cracks, or crazing, manufacturing anomalies do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc.
