Wonderful Pickard Studio Plate Hand Painted with Peaches or Apricots by Paul Gasper ~ Pickard Studios Chicago IL 1912-1918

The artist has used a simple round china mold so it that it would not distract from the beauty of his work and has painted his rendition of beautiful ripe peaches or apricots on a branch. He has used hues of red, peach, green and golden yellow to depict the ripeness of the fruit. It makes you want to reach out and grab one off of the limb! The branches are done in a bark brown with leaves of various shades adding depth to this masterpiece. He has placed this magnification work of art on a background of dark and light peach, gold and white hues. To finish off this wonderful piece he has enclosed it with a blue band and a rim of gold. This beauty is signed on the front by professional Pickard Studio artist P Gasper. Paul Gasper worked for Pickard Studios in Chicago between 1905-1918. A similar piece can be seen on page The plate is in excellent condition. There are no chips, hairlines or cracks; manufacturing anomalies do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc.

This would be a very nice accent piece for any décor or Pickard collector!
