Awesome French Faience Tin Glaze Cabinet Plate / Plaque ~ Victorian Woman in Blue ~ Keller Guerin Luneville France 1890 - 1914
What a beautiful and uniquely done plate. Keller & Guerin has depicted a Victorian woman with her parasol standing under a tree. She appears to be looking in the distance over the water perhaps in the hope her loved one will be coming home soon. The shadowy silhouettes are done in a various colors of blue. There are no hairlines or cracks; manufacturing anomalies do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc.
If you like this plate please see PLT642 & PLT643 these are also done it the shadowy blue effects.
