Stunning Old Red Aesthetic Transferware Plate with Water Wheel Scene ~ “Alaska” pattern ~ Whittaker & Co. W & Co., Hanley, Staffordshire 1882-1886

This is a wonderful old plate with red transfers on a white background. The rim of the plate has criss-cross design with flowers. On the plates well thorny branches are crossed forming a square. Inside of the square is a thorny circle within this is a hug water wheel connected to what appears to be a brick building with silos. Around the outside of the framed scene are flowers, buds and leaves on thorny branches accenting the beautiful inner picture. We have one other plate with the “Alaska” pattern name and it had a different scene in the middle. There are no chips or cracks on this lovely piece. IT IS RARE TO FIND VINTAGE AND ANTIQUE EARTHENWARE / POTTERY / MAJOLICA IN "LIKE NEW" CONDITION BECAUSE OF WEAR FROM USE AND AGE. TINY GLAZE FLAKES AND CRAZING IS NORMAL AND ADDS CHARACTER TO EACH PIECE.
