AWESOME French Majolica Faience Plate With Deep Purple Grapes ~ St Clement, France 1880-1910

This is the prettiest of the majolica fruit plates that we have come across. The fruit appears like it is actually lying on the plate there is so much detail on it. The colors on this plate are still very bright and appealing. The deep purple of the fruit and the variegated green of the leaves go well with the deep brown of the branches. The rim has impressed grapes, vine and leaf designs with one side having a slight teal hue, which really compliments this piece. There are no cracks on this piece, it is in excellent condition! IT IS RARE TO FIND VINTAGE AND ANTIQUE MAJOLICA IN "LIKE NEW" CONDITION BECAUSE OF WEAR FROM USE AND AGE. TINY GLAZE FLAKES AND CRAZING IS NORMAL AND ADDS CHARACTER TO EACH PIECE.
