Beautiful Aesthetic / Japonesque Earthenware Plate – Copeland 1850-1867

This beautiful plate has a soft cream background and a round edge. A wonderful red design decorates the outer rim. The rim has been decorated with colorful red and pink accents on the outlined flowers and designs, wonderful chartreuse green leaves accent the flowers.Raised enamel has been used within the rim decorations A bright red orange design separates the rim from the well of the plate. The inside has been decorated with an aqua vase with pink flowers, a gray table, a lantern and several other items. There are no hairlines or cracks; manufacturing anomalies do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc.

Backstamp: impressed word "COPELAND" in curved form with B
