Extraordinary 5 Piece Set of Bavarian Porcelain ~ 13" Platter & 4 Matching Plates ~ Hand Painted with Sea / Ocean Life ~ Thomas Bavaria ~ 1908-1940

This set has been hand painted by truly a master porcelain artist. The artist has used his expertise in painting beautiful underwater scenes on all these pieces. He has made the background of the lower portion of the plates a mossy green color and the upper portion of light blue. He has incorporated a sponge effect on some areas of the green to resemble the plant life and on the blue section he has used horizontal brush strokes to resemble the water. The artist has added sea weeds that extend from the green area up into the blue background and has attached mussel like shells to these giving the scene a lifelike realistic feel. On the lower portion of the pieces he has painted various colors and shapes of sea shells amongst the green moss and has added gold, rust and purples to the background on several pieces. The artist has added raised white enamel to portions of the shells giving them a three dimensional look and feel. He has added a gold rim to the pieces completing his masterpieces. There are no chips, hairlines or cracks; manufacturing anomalies do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc.
