Gorgeous Porcelain Bavarian Cabinet Plate ~ Hand Painted with Pink & Mauve Roses ~ Racine Pattern ~ Hutschenreuther 1900+
This is a very eye appealing cabinet plate. It is on a wonderful scalloped mold that has ridged insets painted with gold. The artist has painted a light green background around the rim of the plate that flows to a creamy white center. Upon this he has painted pale pink and mauve roses in-between the gold inserts. For the center of the pale pink roses he has used the mauve color of the other rose tying them together beautifully. He has added beautiful gray green leaves and has connected the dainty roses with wispy green branches. This pattern is Hutschenreuther's famous and popular "Racine" pattern (introduced in1900) during Lorenz Hutschenreuther's stewardship and after he bought the Altrohlau Porcelain Factories (1909 ). The Racine pattern consists of delicate molded designs around the rims of the porcelain pieces. There are no chips or cracks; manufacturing anomalies do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc.
