The plate shows a young woman and man lovingly watching a winged child shaving a piece of wood to be used in a wine barrel. The piece was designed by Froment-Richard aka Antoine-Albert Richard, who has initialed this plate F.R. on the wine barrel. This artist was born in 1845. He worked with Barluet Creil Montereau Manufactory since 1876 and the Sarreguemines Factory. His main themes are around children designed within delightful scenes. The most known patterns are the "Service Parisien" for Creil Montereau and The "Enfants Richard" decor for Sarreguemines. Enfants Richard and Service Parisien pieces are exhibited in several museum in France. No chips or cracks. IT IS RARE TO FIND ANTIQUE FAIENCE IN "LIKE NEW" CONDITION BECAUSE OF WEAR FROM USE AND AGE.
