Great Sarreguemines France Faience "(Jeanne) Joan Of Arc Going to see the King" Plate / Plaque – Utzschneider & Co. Sarreguemines France 1900-1930

This is a neat old plate depicting Joan of Arc on her way to see the king. One side of the rim is half moon shaped and has been done in rich brown colors with designs of flags, shields, horns and tree branches. The rest of the plate depicts Joan and gentleman on horse coming into town. The crowd comes up to welcome them. The peoples attire are in bring colors that are still very nice and bright. It is inscribed "De part dJeanne de Arc pour Chinon". The plate is drilled on the back for hanging. IT IS RARE TO FIND ANTIQUE FAIENCE IN "LIKE NEW" CONDITION BECAUSE OF WEAR FROM USE AND AGE. TINY GLAZE FLAKES AND CRAZING IS NORMAL AND ADDS CHARACTER TO EACH PIECE.
