Gorgeous Bavarian Porcelain Plate ~ Hand Painted with Purple and White Clematis ~ Pickard Studio Artist Signed " Wight " ~ Rosenthal Bavaria / Pickard Studios Chicago IL 1905 - 1910

Mr. Wight has painted a wonderful rendition of purple and white clematis type flowers on this gorgeous scalloped mold. The flowers have a vibrant yellow center with white and purple petals . The greenery is a mixture of blue and green hues. Around one side of the flowers he has used soft amber background and the remainder of the background is a sea foam green. He has completed this masterpiece with a golden rim and painted the smaller scallops gold. The artist `Mr. Philip Wight' has signed the front of this piece of artwork. He is listed in the "Collector's Encyclopedia of Pickard China," by Alan B. Reed and is a well know china painter. There are no hairlines or cracks; manufacturing anomalies do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc.
