This is a very well painted and very realistic depiction of plums before they have been picked. The artist has used multiple hues of purples, greens and amber to illustrate the ripening of the fruit. He has accompanied the front with leaves and branches painted in natural shades of greens and browns. He has placed the main grouping of fruit on one edge of the plate and has extended it towards the center. The background is a deep purple on one side and a very light blue on the other. A rust and cream color are painted around the center side of the plate. Gold gilding accents the rim of this plate. Plate is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing.
