Amazing Earthenware Water Pitcher ~ Blue Floral Transfers ~ Alaska Pattern ~ C. & H. Cockson & Harding Cobridge Staffordshire 1856-1863

What a beautiful old pitcher! This would look great sitting in the corner by your Jacuzzi tub; a little old with a little new! This pitcher has a wonderful mold design of raised relief acanthus leaves coming down off the handle and under the spout, raised designs around the base and an ornate handle. It has floral transfers in light and dark blue flowers around the body, on the handle and one the inside of the rim. The transfers have gold sponge accents around them, on the rim and also on the handle. This is just a magnificent piece! The pitcher does have a small 11/2" tight hairline on the rim; please see pictures. IT IS RARE TO FIND ANTIQUE EARTHENWARE IN "LIKE NEW" CONDITION BECAUSE OF WEAR FROM USE AND AGE. TINY GLAZE FLAKES AND CRAZING IS NORMAL AND ADDS CHARACTER TO EACH PIECE.

Backstamp: Crown, Garter with ALASKA on it and C.H. Tunstall inside, ENGLAND under garter Raised RN#

Measures: 12 ½" H x 10" W with handle
