Unique & Rare Limoges Porcelain 50 Oz Pitcher ~ Hand Painted with golden Poppy Leaves & Pods ~ Artist Signed ~ Theodore Haviland France 1903

Beautiful, beautiful piece!!! We have yet to find this mold in our vast research but it is truly wonderful. The artist has used a warm beige background giving this pitcher bisque like appearance. He has painted 3 groupings of black outlined golden stems, leaves and poppy pods interspersed around the pitcher. Between the groupings of stems he has used a darker beige color, giving it a very nice rich touch. The inside of the pitcher has a lighter beige background that recedes to white as it goes down the inside. He has added a black band around the upper portion of the pitcher and a very nice attractive golden rim. The artist “Forsyth” has signed this piece by the handle. The pitcher has a few firing pits on the edge of the base so please see the pictures. There are no chips, hairlines or cracks; manufacturing anomalies do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc.
