Astonishing & OLD Asian Panel with Oriental Motif ~ Raised Bamboo, Leaves & Flowers.

This is an amazing piece that will catch anyone's attention when displayed! It has had carved designs of bamboo stalks, leaves and flowers that have been attached to a wooded panel giving the piece a wonderful three dimensional look. A nice frame has been added to the panel bringing your attention to the main motif. A red lacquer like stain has been applied over the piece giving it a wonderful shiny look. On the reverse side a carving of fish in a bamboo basket has been done and a yellow fleck is mixed with the red lacquer background. I'm not sure if this was meant to be seen from both sides; possibly it was a cabinet door or a panel in a divider? We purchased it with a note attached to the reverse side that reads: "Obtained from the estate of Judge Henderson Kansas City Missouri, taken from home library. October 1999".
