Rare Majolica Corn Whiskey Flask - Outstanding piece of American history.

A VERY unique and I can say without any doubt a very rare figural pottery spirits flask. Shaped as an ear of corn with a beautiful, natural colored Majolica glaze we have only seen one other. It has a cork in the end to keep the whiskey safe and sound. This piece is very symbolic of "Corn" liquor or better known as "Moon Shine". In the late 1800's and early 1900's corn festivals were held throughout the corn growing states. This flask likely survived one of the festivals. These are very hard to find and highly prized to collectors. Why???? It was a standard practice to discard the empty flask before returning home, thus nearly all of the corn flasks were broken before leaving the party.

IT IS RARE TO FIND MAJOLICA IN "LIKE NEW" CONDITION BECAUSE OF WEAR FROM USE AND AGE. TINY GLAZE FLAKES AND CRAZING IS NORMAL AND ADDS CHARACTER TO EACH PIECE.
