Unique Green Shell Shaped English Majolica Dish ~ Wedgwood Barlaston England 1940-1950’s

The gloss is still very shinny and the color is bold and vibrant. This earthenware dish is in the shape of clam shell and is supported by 2 smaller clam shell feet. It has been done in a nice green glaze with darker pools of glaze in the creases give it a rich look. IT IS RARE TO FIND VINTAGE & ANTIQUES MAJOLICA IN "LIKE NEW" CONDITION BECAUSE OF WEAR FROM USE AND AGE. TINY GLAZE FLAKES AND CRAZING IF PRESENT IS NORMAL AND ADDS CHARACTER TO EACH PIECE

Backstamp: Ink and impressed stamped Wedgwood GG4 3L54 Wedgwood Barlaston England.

Measures: 7 1/2" x 5"; Ht. 2 1/2".
