Striking Limoges Porcelain Ramekin and Under Plate ~ Factory Hand Painted with White Flowers ~ Coiffe France 1891-1914

The Coiffe Porcelain Company made these pieces for Marshall Field & Co Department Store in Chicago Ill. The pieces have a slightly fluted rim that has been painted with coin gold. The inner portion of the rims has a beautiful deep olive green background in a scrolling design. Within the green background small white flowers with golden yellow centers have been painted. Accenting gold outlines and scroll work adorn the green boarder and flowers. The inner portion of the ramekin and under plate is a beautiful creamy white. There are no hairlines or cracks; manufacturing anomalies do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc. I know you are asking yourself, what would I do with one ramekin? I have one that I use by my kitchen sink and I put my rings in it! They are safe and sound and you always know where to look for them and it looks beautiful sitting there!
