Awesome LIMOGES Porcelain Demitasse Cup and Saucer ~ Golden Yellow and White Flowers and Vines ~ Delinieres & Co 1879-1883

This is a beautiful old set! Golden yellow transfer of flowers and vines have been applied over a brilliant white background around the cup and the rim of the saucer. A gold edge and handle accents the delicate transfers wonderfully and adds an extra elegance to the pieces. These sets were usually sold in a boxed set of six or twelve. A set can be seen in the Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain, First Edition," by Mary Frank Gaston. There are no chips, hairlines or cracks; manufacturing anomalies do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc.
