Fantastic Pickard Decorated ~ Limoges Porcelain Bouillon Cup and Saucer ~ Hand Painted By Robert Hessler with Purple Cyclamen ~ William Guerin Limoges France / Pickard Studios Chicago IL 1903-1905

Beautiful, beautiful set! As always Pickard Studio artist Hessler has created a master piece on these fabulous pieces. He has chosen a beautiful purple Cyclamen flower as his motif. The design is a very stylistic, art nouveau look. The wide gold rim comes down on the cup and surrounds the beautiful purple petals of the flowers. Long wispy green stems attach the blossoms to the deep green and purple leaves circling the base of the cup and the center of the saucer. A nice buttery yellow is the background around the lower portion of the petals and around the green leaves. Small intricate lines accent the beautiful designs. Hessler has also painted the center of the saucer, the base of the cup and the handles with coin gold.. Robert Hessler has initialed the cup HR. He is a listed artist in the Alan B. Reed's reference book 'Collector's Encyclopedia of Pickard China. The cup has a small flaw at the lower base of one handle. There are no other cracks or chips on these pieces. Please see pictures for condition. Manufacturing anomalies may exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc.
