Attractive English Red / Pink Transferware Dish ~ “Oriental Pattern” ~ George Jones & Sons 1891-1920

This is a nice little piece of English transferware made in Staffordshire England The transfer is a rich red/pink color and the scene is crisp with a glossy finish. The bowl has a floral border with scenes and flowers in cartouches. The center has is a mountain lake scene with figures, lama, boats, and buildings. The lama could be a camel but neither animal goes with the Oriental pattern! Nice little bowl just to sit out. There are no chips or cracks on this piece. IT IS RARE TO FIND VINTAGE AND ANTIQUE EARTHENWARE IN "LIKE NEW" CONDITION BECAUSE OF WEAR FROM USE AND AGE. TINY GLAZE FLAKES AND CRAZING IF PRESENT IS NORMAL AND ADDS CHARACTER TO EACH PIECE.

Backstamp: Crescent George Jones & sons England Oriental above

Measures: 5 ¼” W x 1 1/8” H
