Wonderful Earthenware Blue & White ~ Flow Blue ca.1880 ~ Serving Bowl ~ Hawthornden (pattern) ~Ridgways 4/22/1880

This is an awesome, nice size bowl. Blue & white lovers this is your dream come true! It is decorated with flowers of light blue with deep blue around a white center. A blue dot accents the center of the flowers. The stems are dark blue with light and dark blue leaves and berries. The transfer is placed on a white background giving the piece a wonderful contrast. The base and the rim of this piece have a blue hue which complements the transfer design. The blue rim is bleeding down onto the inside of the white interior of the bowl giving it a flow blue effect. The inside has slight discoloration that indicates the aging of this piece. There are no chips, hairlines or cracks; manufacturing anomalies do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc

Backstamp: bow and quiver England / British diamond registry mark swag says Hawthornden (pattern) - Earthenware manufacturer at the Bedford works, Shelton, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent

Measures: 4 1/2" H X 8" W
