BWL182: Fantastic Limoges Porcelain Master Salad Bowl ~ Diana Mold ~ Hand Painted with Pink Nasturtiums ~ Haviland Co Limoges France 1876-1889

What a beauty to behold! The design of this bowl makes a definite statement with its out turned scalloped rim and fluted corners. This mold is known as the Diana mold and also Blank 10. The background of this beautiful old bowl is a warm ivory done in a matte finish. The outer sides of the bowl have been hand painted with pale pink nasturtiums. Bluish green leaves and stems are intermingled with the flowers. The floral decorations have all been outlined and accented with gold making this design come to life. The inside of the bowl has a soft bluish green background that ties in with the blue on the leaves on the outer portion of this piece. Sponge gold has been used around the decorations and on the rim. This bowl is in excellent condition! There are no hairlines or cracks; manufacturing anomalies do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc.
