Beautiful English Aesthetic Covered Dish with Deep Brown Transfers ~ "Hizen" Pattern ~ Brownhill Pottery Co Tunstall England 7/5/1882

Alternating triangular shapes and panels filled with geometric patterns and floral elements make up the beautiful decorations for the sides of the dish and the outer rim of the lid. The lids finial is accented in the deep brown color. Two brown rings are under the finial with spoke like accents. A wonderful garland like ring next to the geometric broader adds a nice transition onto the white background of the lid. Displays beautifully with lid on top, inside is discolored and there is one slight hairline crack that doesn't seem to go all the way through, as can be seen in the photos. IT IS RARE TO FIND EARTHENWARE AND IRONSTONE IN "LIKE NEW" CONDITION BECAUSE OF WEAR FROM USE AND AGE. TINY GLAZE FLAKES AND CRAZING IF PRESENT IS NORMAL AND ADDS CHARACTER TO EACH PIECE.
