As the back of the jacket says, "This is a story that young and old will welcome as a touching and hilarious prelude to the Christmas season." It will definitely give you the hope that there is a SANTA CLAUS!! Miracle on 34th Street written by Valentine Davis, Published in 1947 by Harcourt, Brace and Company. Davies first wrote the story, which was first adapted into a screenplay for Twentieth Century Fox by George Seaton. The first edition of this book was released in conjunction with the motion picture release on May 2, 1947. This book was possibly a second printing in 1947. The original movie starred Maureen O'Hara, John Payne, Natalie Wood, and Edmund Gwenn. The movie was remade four times, most recently in 1994, and also adapted for television and theatre. Book and jacket condition is near fine. Dust jacket does have some staining on the cover and a few small chips on the edges and a ½" tear in the upper corner. It has been kept well preserved in a sleeve. Dark red boards with silver lettering on spine. Some light aging on pages but this book is in absolutely wonderful condition, appears unread with sharp corners and no wear anywhere. There are no marks, or names anywhere. I remember watching this in black and white when I was young!
This will be a lovely collectible copy that you can share with your children and grandchildren. It will be a treasure for years to come.
