Utzchneider & Co. Sarreguemines France Large Majolica 12" Plate~Platter Ca 1900
The colors and the fruit on this piece are just beautiful. It has the gold and green leaf background, with plums, grapes, strawberries, cherries and apples. This plate has no scratches, stains, chips, cracks, etc. It does have crazing. It's noticeable only if you hold it close to you. It's very hard to find majolica without the crazing. The finish is outstanding, very shiny, with no use marks. The plate dates to the turn of the century, about 1900. This will be a gorgeous item for display or can be used too.
The platter/plate measures 12" wide and is 1 1/2" deep.
