Ridgways Humphreys Clock Charles Dickens Old Curiosity Shop Mulberry~Purple Transferware Luncheon Plate 8" 1840~1880

This is just a delightful pattern. Charles Dickens wrote weekly periodicals featuring Humphreys Clock. Ridgways fashioned this lovely transferware after Dickens periodicals. There are several different scenes in the Humphreys Clock pattern and this one features a woman sitting in a chair reading or darning with a couple at the gate with a cottage or church in the background. There is very little wear on this piece and it is free from cracks, chips, crazing, stains etc. The plate is fully marked with the period Ridgway mark. This beautiful plate is befitting any fine antique transferware collection.

The plate is 8" wide and is 3/4" deep.
