Shiebler Sterling Art Nouveau Match Safe

It has a wonderful embossed, intricately detailed Art Nouveau design.

The repousse design has high relief swirls and foliate designs on a very finely textured background.

Excellent original condition with clear, crisp detail, the hinge is strong and it closes with a secure snap.

The soft, warm, original patina is perfect, with no buffing and just the right amount of oxidation to provide excellent contrast in the exquisite design.

Signed on the lip with the Shiebler winged hallmark, sterling and the number 2940, the other side is signed Black, Starr & Frost, most likely the manufacturer.

Measures 2.5" by 1&5/8" and 3/8" deep, total weight is 22.6 grams.
