Double Rolling Pin - Taylor's Patent Combination Rolling Pin
This gorgeous old maple rolling pin is attributed to the Shakers and was patented by Albert L. Taylor, Springfield, VT on July 16, 1867, pat. # 66909. The double roller design was said to promote easier dough rolling resulting in lighter pastries and crusts ..."it does the work in half the time".

The entire pin is 20 1/2" long, the rollers themselves are 12" long. There are no chips or cracks and the rollers roll smoothly.
If you have access to the book "By Shaker Hands" by June Sprigg, this pin is shown on page 37.
This hard to find rolling pin would be an awesome addition to any collection, and of course can be used if desired!
