English Rectangular Bread Board with Knife - c. 1900

Offered is this lovely old bread board measuring 12 3/4" long x 7 1/2" wide. It has a carved stylized wheat sheaf decoration with the word "BREAD" ornately carved, and a slot for storing the bread knife in one corner. The knife measures 12" long and the blade is engraved "Bread" in script. There's a patent number on the back, seen in photo 6, "PAT No 410". There are hand-holds on either end, making for easy pick-up from your counter or table.

The board shows normal use for the age. There are many knife marks but no deep cuts or gouges. No cracks. There's a small chip at the top of the design, seen in photo 1.

A beautiful set with wonderful patina ...perfect for any country kitchen and gorgeous on your dining table!
