This vintage 1920's-1930's spatter-ware advertising milk pitcher is one of the nicest I have seen in a long time. Good solid piece of pottery with mottled green and brown spatter on golden ocher yellow clay with clear glaze. No chips, scratches, cracks, stains, or repairs. There is fine overall crazing as might be expected on a pottery item of this age. The R in the word rendering was flawed when it was manufactured. The clear glaze is still shiny
The raised (embossed) lettering reads:
S. & W. RENDERING CO. HUTCHINSON PHONE 1122
Hutchinson, Kansas, is the only Hutchinson that comes to mind. I did some online research to identify where the S. & W. Rendering Company was located but had no luck.
This is a fine cross collectible piece to add to your collection. It would appeal to advertising, vintage yellow ware, spatter-ware, primitive kitchenware, and vintage pottery enthusiasts.
