This is a stunning piece of the Roaring Twenties that is in great condition and you won't find many of these in Canary Vaseline Glass. This is #2351 Cigarette holder, manufactured by Fostoria Glass Company between 1924 and 1927. Fostoria first introduced their colored glass in 1924. This Canary color was only made for three years and discontinued in 1927.
Cigarette holders are now being used as business card holders and this one would look great on any desk, business or otherwise. Use the attached tray foot for paper clips, jewelry, etc. Other uses come to mind too such as toothpicks, Q-Tips, match holder, vanity use...........etc.
There is no damage of any kind, just a little normal wear on the bottom.
The size is 4" high and 4-1/2" across the bottom. The inside diameter of the opening is 2-3/8" X 1-1/4".
I found this Fostoria holder pictured on an old catalog page, in "Fostoria The First Fifty Years" by Hazel Marie Weatherman. The 1972 book is out of print now but, the picture is on page 116.
This very nice Fostoria vintage, vaseline, elegant glass holder would make a nice addition to a Tobacciana collection too.
Thanks for looking.
