Antique Mug Stein Baltimore Brewery Bismarck face Early XX 1910-1920s

Wonderful German stein with a great raised-relief images of Bismarck - "The Iron Chancellor". Stein is cream and cobalt in color. Bismarck with his spiked helmet is in the center and the two side panels both show a spread winged German Imperial Eagle with a crest on his chest.

The stein is 10 3/4 inches tall and is in an excellent condition. This mug was made for American Standard Brewing Company of Baltimore, Maryland, to advertise its "Bismark" beer. It was commonplace to feature the German heroes such as Bismark, Kaisers Wilhelm I and II on products produced by German-American companies such as this one. Most of these articles were destroyed or hidden on the eve of the United States' entry into the conflict of WWI. It is embossed "Standard Brewery Co BISMARCK Baltimore." The bottom also has the embossed word Germany A beautiful item for the collector of military or Breweraina.

It is an extremely rare and collectible item.
