Military Oil Painting in Fantastic Frame 19th C. Polish / French

A painting showing either a French or Polish soldier (hussar) retrieving a lady's parasol from a pond. A soldier is depicted in full military uniform and holding a sword.

While painting is of very good quality, the gesso frame is fantastic - made of carved wood and painted in gold is an artwork on its own.

Oil on board. Signed in lower right corner. I cannnot make out a signature; it is either Lefoir or Leloir.
