This is a 19" tall early 1900s French bisque Petite Francaise head by Jules Verlingue on an SFBJ talking bébé body. She is a bit of a put together, with head by Verlingue, but SFBJ body, that probably originally had a head 301 or similar. She has a pate and dark brown/black human hair wig. She is wearing a beautiful white cotton period dress with 5 rows of pleats around the skirt hem, a square bodice trimmed with buttons and lace edging, puffed sleeves with lace trim, lace around neck and hook closures in back. She also has a white cotton petticoat, black stockings and modern replacement white shoes. In addition she comes with a beaded bag to hold her pennies.
The ball jointed body has pull strings to activate the voice. Presumably you pull one to hear mama and the other to hear papa, however they both sound the same to me - but it does work.
Condition: I have priced this doll as a parts doll because the head and body are not originally meant for each other, but separately they are in good condition. No damage tot he bisque head, and the body has typical acceptable wear and tear but no major damage. The dress alone is quite desirable.
This little put together doll is quite presentable as she is, but if you are handy and have the correct parts she may help you complete another doll.
