c.1925 Lehmann Zikra Tin Wind up Toy Man on Cart w/ Zebra

This is a hard to find circa 1925 German tin wind up toy Zikra made by Lehmann with a man on a cart driven by a zebra. The cart is marked on the back 1881 Lehmann, on top Zikra Marke, on the front Pat. USA 25 - Jan - 27, 2-Dec - 13, 752; and on the side Deutsches Reich Patente. Also marked D. R. Patent on the back of the man's seat. the toy measures 7" long x 3.5" across, by 5" tall.

Condition: There is modest superficial wear to the painted finish. Please see photos to judge. The mechanical mechanism does not work at present because the spring is sprung. The reins from the man to the zebra are broken too.

Early Lehmann toys are among the most desirable, and this charming toy is no exception.
