This is a pretty 14" tall French bisque doll made by Louis Léon Prieur and marked Mon Cheri LP Paris 5. This company made dolls circa 1840-1928+. This little lady dates from the early 1900s. She has a bisque socket head on a composition ball jointed body. The doll has blue glass sleep eyes and open cut mouth showing a row or upper teeth. She has pierced ears but no earrings. I removed the pate and long light brown human hair wig to show the markings and secure the sleep eye mechanism.
This doll comes dressed in a lovely pale peach silk dropped waist dress with matching lace trim and rosette at the hip. Underneath is a white cotton slip. She has what appear to be her original pink cloth shoes and cotton knit socks.
Condition is good. No chips, cracks or repairs to the bisque. There is old glue residue on the head from the wig and pate. The body has only superficial normal wear and tear.
Won't you adopt this pretty little French girl?
