This is a sweet 19" tall antique German bisque shoulder head doll made by Kestner. She is marked only with a size number 7 1/2 on the back of the head. She has her original plaster pate and functional brown glass sleep eyes. She has an open cut mouth showing 4 upper teeth. Her body is kid leather with bisque lower arms and cloth lower legs. Her antique clothing consists of white cotton petticoat and pantaloons topped by a cream wool dress with wide lace ruffle around the bodice and pink silk ruffle around the neck. Her curly wig is blond mohair.
Condition is good. No chips, cracks or repairs to the bisque head or arms. Body is sturdy, clean and free from damage. Her wool dress has a smattering of holes and needs pressing.
Note: in order to safely ship this doll I will need to remove the head from the body to stuff inside the head and prevent the sleep eye mechanism from banging around during transit. I will not risk removing the original plaster pate.
This is a very nice example of a fine Kestner bisque doll to add to your collection.
