This is a fun circa 1930s Japanese Otani celluloid somersaulting clown wind up toy. The head, hands and feet are celluloid. The torso contains the metal wind up mechanism with sturdy wire arms and legs connecting to the hands and feet. The clown has original red with white polka dot clown suit with white ruffles at cuffs, plus bells on the legs. When you wind him up the arms circle around and around making him somersault. Key is included (not pictured), though I don't know if it is the original key or not. when flat the clown is 6" tall and 4" across.
Condition is good, though with some modest discoloration of the clothing. Functions well.
What a great old toy!
