This is a delightful antique German musical hand crank automaton on a rectangular wooden base and featuring 2 bisque head dolls and a donkey. As you turn the crank music plays and the standing boy boves his left arm and turns his head back and forth, and the girl on the donkey moves her left hand and head back and forth.
The dolls both have bisque heads with flange necks and wooden hands and feet attached by wires to the torso inside the clothing. The donkey is covered in wool felt. Everything is all original and without alteration as far as I can tell.
The base measures 8" x 14" x 3". The total height with the figures is almost 14". The boy stands 9" tall. The donkey is 8" tall at the head and 11" nose to tail.
Condition is all original and intact, working condition. The colors are faded and dulled with age. The base has worn areas.
It is remarkable to find a fine example like this in working condition and untampered with.
