This is a beautiful 26" tall closed mouth DEP bebe doll on her original Jumeau ball jointed body, and original Jumeau cotton print dress. She has a lovely old brunette human hair wig which may also be original, but she lacks a pate.
Her head is marked DEP and 12 on the back. She has pierced ears and large deep brown glass eyes. There are no chips, cracks or repairs to the bisque. There is a manufacturing flaw behind her left ear where the ear is attached to the head. What looks like lines inside the base of the head is just a few stray hairs from the wig.
The body is marked Bebe Jumeau Diplomme d'honneur inside a blue oval on the lower back. The body doesn't appear to have any repaint. There is typical acceptable wear on joints and hands.
She is dressed in a white cotton petticoat and pantaloons, topped by a wonderful commercially made French dress that I believe is an original Jumeau dress. The dress is off white cotton with small blue roses printed on it. It has a pleated bodice and sleeve caps trimmed with lace, a belt of the dress fabric with blue ribbon woven through, and a deep ruffled hem. The dress could use a wash to brighten it, and pressing to bring it back to its full glory, but it is marvelous even as is now. She also has a nice pair of simple brown leather shoes, probably also French but unmarked, and off white knit socks.
This beautiful French child doll needs only a little minimal sprucing up in order to become the shining star of your collection.
