This is a beautiful early closed mouth model #103 Kestner child doll circa 1885. The bisque head is in good condition, but I detect a very tiny flake on the edge of the eye socket rim on the doll's left lower eyelid. I reduced the price out of consideration for this tiny defect. She has a beautiful bisque head with brown glass sleep eyes, finely painted features, and excellent coloring. The head is marked size 18 over model 103. The body, clothing, wig and pate are believed to be original. The brunette human hair wig has bangs curled softly under and ringlets around the back. She has a cork pate. Her Original early Kestner body has straight wrists and 'saggy butt'. The original finish body has modest surface wear typical for age.
She is wearing her original clothing consists of white cotton lawn slip, dress and smock, all edged with lace and with lace trim inserts. There are a few small holes in the dress and smock and it is somewhat yellowed with age, but is still quite presentable. She also has pantaloons and socks. She lacks only shoes to complete her outfit.
She will be very carefully packed for shipping, stuffed inside the head to secure the sleep eyes. A doll of this size are heavy, fragile, and require a large box for shipment. In the US I offer a choice of USPS Priority, Standard, or Express Shipping. Please check the options to select which method suits your needs. International shipping is via USPS Express Mail only.
This is an outstanding large doll that would be a star in your collection.
