Antique German Fairing Figurine Man & Woman Playing Lute

This is a charming antique German porcelain china figurine of a seated man and woman playing the lute. It is marked on the bottom by the mark of Unterweissbach Porcelain Factory VEB plus model number 8284B. That is a Thuringian company in business since circa 1880. This figuring is a complex one. The gentleman is seated leaning behind the lady. His arms are raised in admiration of the lady's musical abilities. His coat tail is flying outward in a breeze. The lady is seated demurely, with ankles crossed, as she plays her instrument. Both figures have bare feet. There is a basket of flowers at their feet. Their clothing has delicately painted details.

The figurine measures 6" tall by 5" across by 3.5" deep.

Condition: There are a few damages. The tip of the man's right index finger is missing, and I count 5 applied leaf tips damaged in various areas. Price reflects condition.

This is a lovely example of fine German porcelain figural work, and a perfect display piece for your mantel.
